  • Author: Lily
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Crispy cauliflower florets coated in a flavorful batter and served with a spicy Bang Bang sauce, making it a perfect appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Whisk these dry ingredients together until they are well mixed.
  2. Slowly pour in the almond milk while whisking continuously to create a smooth batter.
  3. Cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets and place panko breadcrumbs in a separate bowl.
  4. Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, letting excess drip off, then roll in panko breadcrumbs until fully coated.
  5. Place the coated florets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot. Test with a small piece of batter; it should sizzle.
  7. Fry the cauliflower florets in batches for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Use tongs to turn them gently.
  8. Remove cooked florets with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  9. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and lime juice to make the Bang Bang sauce. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  10. Arrange the fried cauliflower on a serving platter, drizzle with Bang Bang sauce, and garnish with cilantro. Serve hot!

Notes

  • For a healthier option, you can bake the cauliflower instead of frying. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and bake for about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Feel free to adjust the spices in the batter and the sauce to suit your taste preferences.
  • This dish is perfect as an appetizer, snack, or even a main dish served with rice or salad.
