Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup fresh spinach leaves (optional)
- 1/2 cup sour cream (for serving)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Rinse the chicken breasts under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Slice the chicken breasts into thin strips, about 1 inch wide.
- In a medium bowl, combine minced garlic, olive oil, paprika, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
- Add the sliced chicken to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes (or longer in the fridge for enhanced flavor).
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a splash of olive oil.
- Add the marinated chicken strips to the skillet in a single layer, cooking in batches if necessary.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. If using spinach, add it to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until wilted.
- Lay out the flour tortillas on a clean surface.
- Place a generous amount of cooked chicken in the center of each tortilla (about 1/4 of the chicken per wrap).
- Sprinkle a mix of shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the chicken.
- If using, add sautéed spinach on top of the cheese.
- Fold the sides of the tortilla inwards, then roll it up from the bottom to the top, tucking in the sides as you go.
- Repeat for the remaining tortillas.
- Wipe down the skillet and return it to medium heat.
- Place the wraps seam-side down in the skillet, cooking 2-3 at a time.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the wraps from the skillet and let them cool for a minute before slicing in half.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the fillings with your favorite vegetables or additional spices.
