These cookie dough truffles feature a creamy cookie dough center coated in smooth chocolate, making them a delightful treat for any occasion. Easy to make and perfect for sharing, they are sure to satisfy your sweet cravings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup milk (add gradually)
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate melting wafers or chocolate chips for coating

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Add the vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  5. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon.
  6. Add the milk a little at a time, mixing until the dough is soft but not sticky.
  7. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the dough to an airtight container.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes.
  10. Using a small cookie scoop or your hands, take about 1 tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  11. Repeat until all dough is rolled into balls (about 20-24 truffles).
  12. Refrigerate the rolled truffles for another 15-20 minutes.
  13. Melt the chocolate melting wafers or chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth, or use a double boiler.
  14. Remove the truffles from the refrigerator.
  15. Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, ensuring full coverage, and allow excess chocolate to drip off before placing back on the baking sheet.
  16. Optionally, sprinkle with sea salt or crushed nuts before the chocolate sets.
  17. Repeat until all truffles are coated.
  18. Allow the chocolate-coated truffles to set at room temperature or refrigerate until the chocolate is firm.

Notes

  • Ensure the cookie dough is well-chilled before rolling to make shaping easier.
  • Feel free to customize the coating with toppings like sprinkles, crushed cookies, or coconut flakes.
