  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 75 minutes
  • Yield: 6-8 glasses 1x

Description

This Coconut Milk Brazilian Lemonade is a delightful blend of fresh lime juice, creamy coconut milk, and sweetened condensed milk, creating a refreshing drink perfect for warm days. Easy to prepare and customizable, it’s a deliciously cool treat that can be enjoyed on any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh squeezed lime juice (about 68 limes)
  • 1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime slices and mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Roll the limes on a countertop to soften them. Cut in half and juice using a citrus juicer. Strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp, yielding about 1 cup of fresh lime juice.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the coconut milk and sweetened condensed milk until fully blended.
  3. In a large pitcher, combine the lime juice, coconut milk mixture, and granulated sugar. Stir well until the sugar dissolves completely.
  4. Gradually add the 4 cups of cold water to the pitcher, stirring well to mix everything evenly.
  5. Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar if too tart, or more lime juice/water if too sweet.
  6. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
  7. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the chilled lemonade over the ice.
  8. Garnish with a slice of lime and a sprig of mint for added color and aroma.
  9. Store any leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Stir before serving again.
  10. For a fruity twist, blend in fresh fruits like strawberries or mangoes, or add a splash of coconut rum for a cocktail version.

Notes

  • Choose firm, heavy limes for juiciness.
  • Use full-fat coconut milk for a creamier texture.
  • Adjust sweetness based on lime ripeness.
  • For a slushy version, blend the mixture with ice until smooth.
