Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh squeezed lime juice (about 6–8 limes)
- 1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 4 cups cold water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Lime slices and mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Roll the limes on a countertop to soften them. Cut in half and juice using a citrus juicer. Strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp, yielding about 1 cup of fresh lime juice.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the coconut milk and sweetened condensed milk until fully blended.
- In a large pitcher, combine the lime juice, coconut milk mixture, and granulated sugar. Stir well until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Gradually add the 4 cups of cold water to the pitcher, stirring well to mix everything evenly.
- Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar if too tart, or more lime juice/water if too sweet.
- Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
- Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the chilled lemonade over the ice.
- Garnish with a slice of lime and a sprig of mint for added color and aroma.
- Store any leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Stir before serving again.
- For a fruity twist, blend in fresh fruits like strawberries or mangoes, or add a splash of coconut rum for a cocktail version.
Notes
- Choose firm, heavy limes for juiciness.
- Use full-fat coconut milk for a creamier texture.
- Adjust sweetness based on lime ripeness.
- For a slushy version, blend the mixture with ice until smooth.
