Description
These Crab Cheese Crescent Rolls are a delicious appetizer featuring a creamy crab filling wrapped in flaky crescent dough, ideal for parties or a cozy night in.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup crab meat, drained and flaked (imitation crab can be used)
- 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese. Make sure it’s at room temperature for easy mixing.
- Add the flaked crab meat to the bowl, breaking up imitation crab into smaller pieces if using.
- Sprinkle in the finely chopped green onions.
- Add the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Pour in the lemon juice, and sprinkle the garlic powder and Old Bay seasoning over the mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix until well combined.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Open the can of crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles along the perforated lines.
- Lay out the triangles with the wide end facing you.
- Take about 1-2 tablespoons of the crab filling and place it at the wide end of each crescent triangle.
- Starting from the wide end, roll the dough towards the pointed end, tucking the filling in as you go. Pinch the edges to seal.
- Place the crescent rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each roll.
- Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg.
- Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up. Keep an eye on them to avoid over-baking.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the filling by adding other ingredients like diced bell peppers or herbs.
- If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
