  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 rolls 1x

Description

These Crab Cheese Crescent Rolls are a delicious appetizer featuring a creamy crab filling wrapped in flaky crescent dough, ideal for parties or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup crab meat, drained and flaked (imitation crab can be used)
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese. Make sure it’s at room temperature for easy mixing.
  2. Add the flaked crab meat to the bowl, breaking up imitation crab into smaller pieces if using.
  3. Sprinkle in the finely chopped green onions.
  4. Add the shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Pour in the lemon juice, and sprinkle the garlic powder and Old Bay seasoning over the mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix until well combined.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Open the can of crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles along the perforated lines.
  8. Lay out the triangles with the wide end facing you.
  9. Take about 1-2 tablespoons of the crab filling and place it at the wide end of each crescent triangle.
  10. Starting from the wide end, roll the dough towards the pointed end, tucking the filling in as you go. Pinch the edges to seal.
  11. Place the crescent rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each roll.
  12. Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg.
  13. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up. Keep an eye on them to avoid over-baking.
  14. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the filling by adding other ingredients like diced bell peppers or herbs.
  • If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
