Crispy Air Fryer Garlic Fries: The Ultimate Recipe for Perfectly Seasoned Fries

  • Author: Lily
  • Total Time: 60 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Crispy Air Fryer Garlic Fries are a healthier twist on traditional fries, seasoned with garlic, smoked paprika, and fresh parsley. Perfect as a side dish or snack, these fries are easy to make and deliver a satisfying crunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Wash the russet potatoes thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt. If you prefer, you can peel them, but leaving the skin on adds texture and flavor.
  2. Slice the potatoes into even strips, about 1/4 inch thick for even cooking. A mandoline slicer can help achieve uniformity.
  3. Place the cut fries in a large bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch for crispier fries.
  4. After soaking, drain the fries and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to remove moisture.
  5. In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, drizzle olive oil over the dried fries and toss to coat. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the fries and toss again until evenly coated.
  7. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  8. Place a single layer of fries in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded for even cooking.
  9. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. For extra crispiness, add an additional 2-5 minutes of cooking time.
  10. Ensure fries are golden brown and crispy. If needed, continue cooking in 2-minute increments.
  11. Remove fries from the air fryer and place in a large bowl. While hot, add remaining minced garlic and toss to combine.
  12. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the fries and add grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
  13. Transfer fries to a serving platter or individual bowls and serve immediately.
  14. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces like ketchup, aioli, or spicy mayo.
  15. Gather friends or family and enjoy these crispy garlic fries as a side dish or snack!

Notes

  • Experiment with seasonings to customize the flavor. Adding cayenne pepper can give a spicy kick, or try different herbs for variety.
  • For best results, do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking.
