Description
Crispy Air Fryer Garlic Fries are a healthier twist on traditional fries, seasoned with garlic, smoked paprika, and fresh parsley. Perfect as a side dish or snack, these fries are easy to make and deliver a satisfying crunch.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Wash the russet potatoes thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt. If you prefer, you can peel them, but leaving the skin on adds texture and flavor.
- Slice the potatoes into even strips, about 1/4 inch thick for even cooking. A mandoline slicer can help achieve uniformity.
- Place the cut fries in a large bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch for crispier fries.
- After soaking, drain the fries and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to remove moisture.
- In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In a large mixing bowl, drizzle olive oil over the dried fries and toss to coat. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the fries and toss again until evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Place a single layer of fries in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded for even cooking.
- Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. For extra crispiness, add an additional 2-5 minutes of cooking time.
- Ensure fries are golden brown and crispy. If needed, continue cooking in 2-minute increments.
- Remove fries from the air fryer and place in a large bowl. While hot, add remaining minced garlic and toss to combine.
- Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the fries and add grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
- Transfer fries to a serving platter or individual bowls and serve immediately.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauces like ketchup, aioli, or spicy mayo.
- Gather friends or family and enjoy these crispy garlic fries as a side dish or snack!
Notes
- Experiment with seasonings to customize the flavor. Adding cayenne pepper can give a spicy kick, or try different herbs for variety.
- For best results, do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking.
