Description
Crispy Ranch Chicken Tenders are a flavorful twist on a classic favorite, marinated in buttermilk and ranch seasoning, then coated in a crunchy breadcrumb mixture and fried to golden perfection. Perfect for dipping and serving with your favorite sides!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound chicken tenders
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the buttermilk and ranch seasoning mix. Whisk until the seasoning is fully dissolved.
- Add the chicken tenders to the buttermilk mixture, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight.
- Set up your breading station: In one shallow dish, add the all-purpose flour. In a second shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade. Allow excess buttermilk to drip off.
- Dip each chicken tender into the flour, coating evenly, then shake off excess flour.
- Transfer to the breadcrumb mixture, pressing the breadcrumbs onto the chicken for a good coating. Place on a clean plate and repeat with all tenders.
- In a large skillet, pour enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom by about 1/4 inch. Heat over medium-high heat.
- Test the oil by dropping in a small piece of bread; if it sizzles, it’s ready.
- Carefully add the breaded chicken tenders, cooking in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
- Transfer cooked tenders to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Serve the crispy ranch chicken tenders with ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauces. Pair with crispy fries, a fresh salad, or roasted vegetables.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, mix cayenne pepper into the breadcrumb mixture.
- For a healthier option, bake the tenders at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat in an oven or air fryer for best results.
