Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing on low speed until well combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes to help maintain shape and enhance flavors.
- Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion out the dough, rolling each portion into a ball and placing them on the baking sheets with 2 inches of space between each.
- Make a small well in the center of each cookie dough ball using your thumb or the back of a spoon.
- Drizzle about 1 teaspoon of caramel sauce into each well, being careful not to overfill.
- Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
- Enjoy warm with a glass of milk or your favorite coffee.
