Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup sugar (for cinnamon sugar)
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9×5-inch loaf pans generously with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Set aside.
- In another bowl, cream together 1 cup of sugar and ½ cup of softened unsalted butter until light and fluffy. Beat in 2 large eggs, one at a time. Add 1 cup of milk and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are fine!
- In a separate small bowl, mix together ½ cup of sugar and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pans. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter. Pour the remaining batter on top and finish with the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Use a knife or a skewer to gently swirl the batter and cinnamon sugar together, being careful not to overdo it.
- Place the pans in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the loaves from the oven and let them cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
