- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (plain, non-fat or full-fat)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- Cooking spray or parchment paper for greasing the pan
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the Greek yogurt, applesauce, eggs, and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture and whisk until well combined.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Prepare an 8×8 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness at the 25-minute mark with a toothpick.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment paper.
- Cut into squares and serve. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or serve with ice cream.

- Feel free to customize your brownies by adding nuts, dried fruit, or different types of chocolate chips.
- For a gluten-free version, substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
