This Honey Garlic Pork Tenderloin features tender pork marinated in a sweet and savory honey-soy sauce, making it a perfect dish for any occasion. Easy to prepare and packed with flavor, it’s sure to impress your family and friends!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pork tenderloin
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and black pepper. Whisk until fully incorporated.
  2. Place the pork tenderloin in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the pork, ensuring it’s well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, preferably a few hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Remove the pork from the marinade, letting excess drip off, and reserve the marinade.
  4. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Sear the pork on all sides for about 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
  5. Pour the reserved marinade over the pork in the skillet. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  6. Once done, remove the pork from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.
  7. While the pork rests, place the remaining marinade in the skillet over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer.
  8. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Slowly whisk the slurry into the simmering marinade and cook for another 2-3 minutes until thickened. Add water if it becomes too thick.
  9. Slice the rested pork into 1/2 inch thick medallions and arrange on a serving platter. Drizzle the thickened sauce over the top.
  10. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • For a more intense flavor, consider adding a splash of orange juice or zest to the marinade.
  • Substitute pork tenderloin with chicken breast or thighs, adjusting the cooking time accordingly.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
