Enjoy these scrumptious Oreo Cinnamon Rolls, featuring a soft dough filled with crushed Oreos and a touch of cinnamon, all drizzled with creamy icing. Perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies (about 1012 cookies)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm milk (about 110°F or 43°C) and the granulated sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the wet ingredients and stir to combine.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough begins to form.
  5. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  6. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  7. In a small bowl, combine the crushed Oreo cookies, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.
  8. Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick (approximately 12×18 inches).
  9. Brush melted butter over the rolled-out dough and sprinkle the Oreo filling mixture evenly over it.
  10. Starting from one long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log.
  11. Use a sharp knife or dental floss to slice the log into 12 equal pieces.
  12. Place the sliced rolls in a greased baking dish, cover with a towel, and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  13. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  14. Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
  15. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until creamy.
  16. If the icing is too thick, add more milk, one teaspoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
  17. Once the rolls are baked, drizzle the cream cheese icing over the warm rolls and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg to the filling.
  • These rolls are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • You can freeze the unbaked rolls after slicing; just let them rise and bake them directly from the freezer, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time.
