Description
Crispy Garlic Parmesan Fries are a healthier air-fried alternative to traditional fries, seasoned with garlic, smoked paprika, and topped with grated Parmesan cheese. Perfect as a side dish or snack, these fries are easy to make and packed with flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Wash the russet potatoes thoroughly under cold water. Peel them if desired for a classic fry experience.
- Cut the potatoes into even-sized fries, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
- Soak the cut fries in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
- Drain and pat the fries dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
- In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In a large mixing bowl, drizzle olive oil over the dried fries and toss to coat. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the fries and toss again.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Place the seasoned fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
- Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
- Once cooked, transfer the fries to a mixing bowl and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over them while still hot. Toss gently.
- Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the fries for added color and flavor.
- Enjoy the fries fresh out of the air fryer with your favorite dipping sauces.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes.
Notes
- Feel free to experiment with different seasonings to customize the flavor of your fries.
- For a thicker fry, cut the potatoes into wedges instead of strips.
