- 2 ¼ teaspoons 1 packet active dry yeast
- ¼ cup warm water about 110°F / 43°C
- 1 cup cottage cheese room temperature
- 2 tablespoons butter softened
- 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg room temperature
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour or bread flour
- Optional Add-Ins:
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs rosemary, chives, or thyme
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan or cheddar cheese for extra flavor
- 1 tablespoon flaxseeds or chia seeds for added nutrition
Make the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, butter, honey (or sugar), salt, and egg. Mix well.
Add the yeast mixture and 1 cup of flour. Stir to combine.
Gradually add the remaining flour, mixing until a dough forms.
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
