Ingredients

  • 1 store-bought flatbread or naan
  • 1 –2 ripe pears Bosc or Bartlett, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
  • ½ small red onion thinly sliced or caramelized
  • 2 tbsp chopped walnuts or pecans optional
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey or balsamic glaze for drizzling
  • Fresh thyme or arugula optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment or place flatbread directly on the sheet.
  • Brush the flatbread lightly with olive oil. Arrange pear slices evenly across the surface.
  • Top with Gorgonzola, red onions, and walnuts (if using).
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are golden and cheese is slightly bubbling.
  • Drizzle with honey or balsamic glaze. Top with fresh thyme or arugula if desired.
  • Slice and serve warm or at room temperature!

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm pears to avoid excess moisture on the flatbread.
  • Swap Gorgonzola for goat cheese or brie if preferred.
  • Add a few slices of prosciutto for a salty-savory upgrade.
  • Use puff pastry or pizza dough if you want a more traditional pizza base.
  • To caramelize onions, cook over low heat with a little olive oil for 15–20 minutes until golden.
